Valentine Card Exchange – 2025
This year marks the fourth year of the October Roads Studio Valentine Card Exchange! Let me give you a little back story as to how this all began. It was early January and I was doing a craft live. I was chatting with commenters about Valentine’s Day and mentioned that it would sure be nice to have a little extra love during the Valentine holiday. With not much time to prepare I quickly jumped into action and formed a simple excel spreadsheet and collected names from those who were interested in sending out Valentine’s cards in hopes of receiving a few of their own in return. Oh my goodness, what a fun exchange we had that year. In fact, it was such a hit that we decided to do it again the next year, and the next, bringing us to this year 2025!
No matter the simplicity or complexity of each Valentine sent and received, those who participated seemed to be filled with joy as cards began to arrive. There is just something about receiving a heart-felt Valentine in the good ol’ mailbox.
It was as if I had been taken back to my little elementary school girl self and was taking special care in-the-making each Valentine special. I brought out the glue, the doilies, construction paper, scissors, and stickers! Oh the pure and simple joy that I felt when I assembled each Valentine and adorned it with embellishments, making it just the perfect card for it’s soon to be recipient!
And the joy I felt from receiving sweet Valentine’s from other women across the country was just that, pure joy! I began to look forward to the mail coming during that month. We all enjoyed it so much that it was decided we do it again the next year. Here we are entering our fourth year of the great Valentine Exchange!
This year we are doing it a bit differently, as the group has grown to over 300 members.
